Miss Whiplash in 24hr car river trap

FORMER Miss Whiplash Lindi St Clair was seriously ill last night after being trapped upside down in her car in a river for almost 24 HOURS.

The 1980s dominatrix and brothel madam, now 57, was found still conscious in her 4x4 after having hurtled 15ft down an embankment the day before.

Doctors were understood to be treating her for multiple serious injuries and hypothermia.

Former prostitute Lindi achieved notoriety after claiming that MPs and other top public figures were among wealthy clients at her sex dungeon in London.

She repeatedly stood for Parliament campaigning for more liberal sex laws, but in later years moved to Herefordshire to run a duck farm.
Emergency services were alerted at around 3pm yesterday after a passer-by spotted her car on its roof in the water near Risbury, Herefordshire.

Fire crews took nearly two hours to free her. She was flown to hospital in an air ambulance.

Police said the road was “very remote”. They believe the crash happened on Thursday afternoon.

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said Lindi was lucky to be alive.

He added: “We mobilised fire crews from Leominster with specialist cutting gear.”

Bankrupt
Lindi - real name Marian June Aken - was so successful in her heyday as a Miss Whiplash she owned a Rolls-Royce and yacht.

But she went bankrupt in 1992 after the Inland Revenue pursued her for tax evasion.

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact West Mercia Police.
A WOMAN driver was hauled to safety yesterday as her car slowly sank in a 16ft deep dyke.

Alma Ryman, 55, lost control of her £13,000 motor, flattened a barrier and landed in the water at Bank Drain near Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.
Another driver, Jeff Pratt, stopped then waded in and hauled her clear.
She said: “He’s my hero. I feared I’d die.”
