COLUMBIA, Tenn. - The prosecution began making their case Tuesday in the trial for a woman accused of killing her husband during a sex-bondage game.
Rebecca Bargy, 26, is charged with second degree murder in the death of her husband, 29-year-old James Bargy.
Prosecutors said Bargy admitted to tying up her husband in a written statement. She wrote that the bondage was to help stretch her husband's back.
"I honestly don't see the harm in doing this because we do it all the time and he always get out," according to the written statement by Bargy.
Investigators found James' body inside the couple's Columbia home in April 2008, with his arms and legs strapped behind him and duct tape over his mouth.
Police believe Rebecca tied up James and left him to die while she left the residence for more than 20 hours to meet up with a boyfriend she met online.
Prosecutors called seven witnesses to the stand. They will either wrap up their case later Tuesday night or first thing in the morning.
Then it will be the defenses turn to begin their case. It is likely that Bargy will take the stand in her own defense.
The defense attorney said Bargy did not want to kill her husband.
A judge announced the jury will be sequestered at a local hotel.
Investigators said they collaborated with detectives in large cities like New York and Los Angeles to ask questions about how unusual crimes like this are investigated and tried.
