Bondage axe wife is cleared

A woman accused of abusing her husband in a bondage sex game was celebrating yesterday after a jury acquitted her.


Sarah Duncombe, 32, a magistrates' court administrator, was said to have tied husband Simon to their bed and blindfolded him.

Nottingham Crown Court heard she then attacked him with a pickaxe. Mr Duncombe lost two teeth and suffered a cut lip.

Mrs Duncombe told the court she thought her husband was going to strangle her and used the pickaxe in self-defence at their home in Fernwood near Newark, Notts.

Mrs Duncombe, who has separated from her husband and now lives in Manchester, was cleared of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
