Space age dominatrix Tranie Tronic (a.k.a. Montreal transdisciplinary artist Atif Siddiqi) has finally recorded her nightclub act. While many of the 13 tracks here could really use deeper grooves and catchier hooks, Tranie Tronic has some pretty challenging views on sex and love, notably on the album's best song, Plastic Fantastic. Her rap-like drag queen vocals and '80s electro-pop - crafted by techno musician Steve Orton with strings by Charles Meinen of the OSM - sound a bit like late Rough Trade and Club 69's 1995 album Adults Only.
