USA- On Tuesday, Rihanna premiered the music video for her new single, S&M. The video that features ball-gagged press, Perez Hilton, on a dog leash, bondage, Rihanna seductively eating a banana, whips, and sexy movements and costumes is proving to be too racy.
According to
MTV News, 11 countries have banned the video from being aired and BBC 1 Radio refuses to play the track before 7pm.
The radio station said, "We are waiting for an edited version before deciding whether it will be played in the daytime."
YouTube has also restricted the video, including a parental warning and age verification.
The song includes such lyrics as "Sex in the air/ I don't care/ I love the smell of it/ Sticks and stones may break my bones/ But chains and whips excite me."
Rihanna responded via Twitter to the YouTube restriction of S&M, saying, "U can now view the S&M video on
Rihannanow.com, UNFLAGGED!!!" Also tweeting, "They watched Umbrella...I was full nude."
MTV was rumored to have been considering airing a re-edit, however, MTV News learned, the Melina Matsoukas-directed video was approved as is.
According to the U.K.
Daily Mirror, Rihanna is no stranger for controversial videos. Her video for Te Amo contained girl-on-girl, causing it to be banned on U.S. TV.
Rihanna was a fan of a cut scene from S&M but it proved to be too raunchy.
Ri loved one raunchy scene involving a female dancer - but it was cut from the final edit for being too much.
