Shawna Kenney’s Dominatrix Memoir Gets TV Deal With Vince Vaughn

USA - WASHINGTON - Writer and former Safari Club promoter Shawna Kenney’s book I Was a Teenage Dominatrix is being adapted for television by Fox’s FX network, New York magazine reports
. Kenney's memoir tells about how she went from quiet punk kid who published her own photocopied No Scene Zine to a professional dominatrix, after "flipping through the sleazy ads” in the august pages of this very journal and answering one that read "Get paid to be a bitch." Her job with a for-hire S&M service helped her pay the bills as a student at AU, and introduced her to a whole new wardrobe and sense of confidence: I couldn’t believe that just a month before I was avoiding bill collectors’ calls and now I was walking out the door nightly with at least $300 in my hand-and for what?! Spanking some man who felt he needed it? Why hadn’t I learned this sooner? I was the star of these men’s fantasies, and I was the the dominatrix and I was in charge-not them.
