USA - HOLLYWOOD - "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans have been expressing frustration with the pace of the movie making process recently but today they finally get some exciting news. Universal Chairman, Adam Fogelson, assured the world on Feb 20 that he wants the film made soon, telling The Hollywood Reporter
."that it is an absolute priority for us" and he thinks a Summer 2014 release is possible.
Fogelson also revealed that the studio is in talks with multiple director's for the upcoming film adaptation of the hugely successful novel. "We have had really, really interesting, great conversations with talented, serious filmmakers," admitted Fogelson, yet Angelina Jolie is not one of them. When asked if the Hollywood star would take the helm of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, the chairman denied rumors saying, "no. We're involved in a different project with her." The "Fifty Shades" rumor mill has centered on Bill Condon as a potential director since he and partner Jack Morrisey are friends with Author E L James.
There is a bit of discontent among the "greysessed," with many thinking casting should be completed and a director should have been announced months ago. On Feb 19 a Stir <http://thestir.cafemom.com/entertainment/151404/latest_50_shades_of_grey> reporter expressed frustration regarding the newest casting rumors, "seriously, at the rate we're going, they're never going to cast this flick. And if and when they do finally settle on a Christian and Ana, Fifty Shades will probably be yesterday's news and no one will even care anymore." Hopefully this tidbit direct from Universal Pictures will help quell the frustration. One fan commented on the story via fan site
