JAPAN - KANAGAWA - Kanagawa Prefectural Police arrested a man on Saturday who stole 200 bicycle seats so that he could enjoy the lingering odor of women. The 35-year-old sexual deviant named Joji Kondo, a resident of Yokohama, stole female bicycle saddles before he was taken into custody by the police on charges of theft.
Apparently, the suspect began stealing bicycle seats starting in January of last year. The Yamate
Police, Station noted 24 complaints of bicycle seats being filed. I like saddles that women ride, Kondo was quoted as saying by the police. I like the smell and texture of leather saddles, which I lick and smell, he reportedly admitted. It was on Thursday that Kondo was alleged to have stolen three bicycle seats, from inside the parking garage of an apartment building in Naka Ward. This was the act that was recorded by a security camera and eventually led the police officers to the capture of the suspect. When Kondo was confronted by the prefectural police as he was about to enter his residence also in Naka Ward, he was carrying three womens bicycle seats inside a plastic bag. A search of his household revealed the other 197 saddles. Kondo was particularly boastful to police of his ability to distinguish one seat owner from another. I sniff the lingering odor of women, the suspect added, alluding to the fact that he primarily stole leather seats as they carried the scent better.
Strange as Kondos fetish is, he is apparently not alone in targeting bicycle saddles. According to the police, there was also a similar case in
Tochigi Prefecture, where another person was arrested for his bicycle seat fetish. And speaking of sexual deviants, both of these men will now be enshrined in police records together with 40-year-old Yasasushi Uehara, another Kanagawa Prefecture resident, who was arrested in March this year for the
theft of 90 clothing articles, stolen from high school girls. Uehara had not revealed the details of what he does with the clothes, but thats easily inferred, isnt it?
