No jail for pervy postman.

CANADA - OTTAWA - A pervy postman who peeped on a sleeping woman and sent her a raunchy note asking her to take part in a rape fantasy was spared time behind bars Monday.
William Johnston, 46, got a four-month conditional sentence -- a jail sentence he can serve at home -- and 18 months of probation.
The Crown had been angling for 90 days of real jail after Williams was outed as the author of the masochistic missive. The four-page typed letter revealed he'd been spying on the woman for months, learning her name and her habits.
He wrote he'd show her "the best night you've had in many years" if she posted a signal acquiescing to his request for bondage sex play.
"Don't tell me the thought has never crossed your mind," he wrote. "You're living alone with nothing to protect you but that front door of yours."
The letter, however, made clear he sought her consent and he even specified a safe word -- "butterfly" or, if she was gagged, "mmph, mmph, mmph."
That did little to reassure the woman, who wrote in a victim impact statement she feels "like a prisoner in my own home."
"I feared for my life," her statement said.
Defence lawyer Paul Lewandowski said Johnston was pleased and that he "will never end up before the court again."
