Mira Johnson: from stripper to dominatrix to life coach.(videolink)

USA - LOS ANGELES - Mira Johnson is a stripper turned dominatrix turned… life coach?! The journey to her current career is undeniably a unique one she pegs on a quarter-life crisis.
“I went to college for business and marketing. I just did what I thought I should do, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I landed in corporate America, had a lot of success… but felt unfulfilled,” Johnson said. “Living in Portland, I stumbled upon these strong amazing women who told me they were working in the stripping industry, and it shocked me because it broke every stereotype I had of what it meant to be an exotic dancer, and it got my gears turning.”
Both stripping and life coaching as professions get a bad rap, and Johnson is hoping to break down some of the common stereotypes.
“That these women are some kind of sad story and that all of them have drug problems and are in it against their will, that is not true,” Johnson said. “Most of the women I met as exotic dancers were educated, smart women who were using the industry as a way to uplevel their lives.”
And as for life coaching? Johnson says it may be time for a re-brand. “People think life coaches are some kind of glorified counselor or therapist … my clients
come to me, having already done that work,” Johnson said. “I think the word ‘life coach’ is getting the same bad rap that ‘feminism’ has had lately.”
Looking back, Johnson says she has no regrets and would life-coach herself to do it all over again the same way.
